What You Cannot Store in a Self-Storage Unit

Hazardous Materials

Flammable liquids, gases, explosives and chemicals cannot be stored. This includes paint, petrol, gas canisters and cleaning solvents.

Perishable Food

Fresh food will rot and attract pests. Tinned or sealed dry goods may be acceptable but check with your provider first.

Living Things

No plants or animals can be stored — this applies to all storage types including crates and containers.

Illegal Items

Items that are illegal to own or have been stolen cannot be stored. Providers are legally required to report suspicious items.

High-Value Items

Jewellery, cash and fine art are stored at your own risk. We strongly recommend keeping such items in a home safe or bank safety deposit box. Our facility is CCTV-monitored 24/7 and secure. We include goods in transit insurance while your items travel to and from our facility, but do not provide insurance for items held at the facility. If you would like storage insurance for additional peace of mind, we can recommend a suitable provider — just ask.

Firearms and Weapons

Firearms require specific licensed storage and cannot go into standard units.

What You CAN Store

Furniture, clothing, books, electronics, boxes, sports equipment, seasonal items and most household goods are all fine.
